Dressing Up, Looking Up

red pleated dress with leather details, wet seal fedora, forever 21 beaded cuff, apt 9 kohls midcalf boots,

Today is a good day and you don’t know how good it feels to say that. You might’ve noticed that I’ve been absent for the past couple of weeks, and that’s because (in short) life has been really, really hard lately. I don’t know if it’s because we have bad luck or because Mercury is doing it’s thing, but our little family were shown first hand that when it rains… it pours.

I’ll break it down for you, quickly. We spent almost a week in the hospital, and are barely keeping our head above water when it comes to bills… and I mean by literal pennies. It’s hard to be sick, AND so broke you have to decide if you need to go to the doctor, or buy groceries this week.

red pleated dress with leather details, wet seal fedora, forever 21 beaded cuff, apt 9 kohls midcalf boots,

In the last few days, the clouds finally parted for us and the sun started shining and we were shown first hand, what struggle can do for you, in a positive way. Eric’s finally getting a scope done this Friday to fix his stomach, we finally get Baby Boy again, I get to see my best friend for the first time in a month, and the kicker? After being unemployed for over 2 years now, I got a job! YEAH BABY! I’m going back into my profession of being a hairstylist and starting at a salon next Monday. (Come get a haircut!) All of these things, good and bad, have made us/me/Eric stronger. And even though we’re still digging ourselves out of this hole, I can confidently say that we’re going to make it and things are finally looking up.

Life is really hard. It just is. But there’s something so calming about seeing the end of this long, bumpy road and I couldn’t be happier. Our family is finally on its way to achieving our dreams! So get ready to hear about work outfits! Get ready to see a lot more of Eric and Todd! And get ready for regular posts, from now on, because nothing’s stopping me now.

    Darling -

I know what it’s like to have things get hard. I remember when J lost his job and money was so tight — and even then, your troubles seem even bigger. I, glad you got through it. Your attitude is inspiring! Congrats on the job… I wish you lived close enough to cut my hair. ;)

on the fashion side, you look adorable and ready for summer! Bring on more of those dresses and pictures of your little family. I’ll be waiting in a totally non-creepy way. XD

I completely know this feeling and it is shitty to go through, but as you state, you ALWAYS come out stronger for it. It just sucks at the time though. Congrats on the job! I am so glad that things are looking up for you. It really makes you appreciate every little victory. Beautiful dress as well!

I’m so sorry things haven’t been the best for you.
It is such a kick in the rear when you literally have to choose between going to the hospital or spending money elsewhere. I completely know that feeling, and unfortunately, I’ve had to choose spending the money/time somewhere else many times because I believed I could tolerate my pain or whatever was going on.

I’ll be sending you good vibes that hopefully your latest good luck happenings will continue to roll in!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this rough time Ashley…I am all too familiar with what that feels like. Not too long ago my family and I were going through that. It still feels like a month by month survival going on, but we somehow make it.
Praying for you and your family! <3
